Dustudio, Auroville is a collaborative, inter-disciplinary, architectural design practice inspired by ancient Indian thought & wisdom. The work of Dustudio aims to create a strong link between past, present and future of building traditions in Indian context, using the existing traditional knowledge base as well as innovating within the framework of its social relevance, economic viability, environmental impact and culturally rooted aesthetics.

Plaza, IIHS Kengeri Bangalore

The proposed Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) national university campus in Bangalore is expected to enable interdisciplinary teaching-learning, research and innovation and demonstrate the best examples of Indian design and architecture. 

 

The Plaza would be nerve centre of the campus that would facilitate formal and informal learning, interactions and intellectual exchange, dissemination and overall represent the aspirations of the institution. It also plays a role of a Hub space which is one the key principle specific to IIHS campus life.

Senior Faculty Housing, IIHS Kengeri, Bangalore

Built-up area:    1280 sq. m (13,778 sq. ft)

 

 

Existing site features, views & orientation, sustainability of materials & technologies and climate responsiveness were the key considerations for the design of Senior faculty housing. Each house has a central inner core which are the primary functions of living, kitchen, dining placed in a linear fashion with an open plan and the outer core are the rooms that connect to the central core.

 

The houses share similar requirements but are diverse in their experience and spatial treatment, allowing for flexibility and adaptability as per different user profiles.

Kalsar Community Centre Bhavnagar Dist. Gujarat

Site area        -  6.38 Acres  ( 25,817 sq. m)

 

 

Kalsar Community centre aims to bridge the gap between the rural and urban context without losing the essence of the village by itself, keeping the traditions and cultural values of the diverse community it is catering to intact.

​

Design will respond to the context of the site, culture of the area, find contemporary relevance of the construction practices that are traditional to this area and will reflect the aspirations of the community, for whom the centre is being developed.
